FIKES UPNVJ - On Saturday, May 24, 2025, a disaster counseling activity was held at Karang Taruna RW 13, Bojong Gede, Bogor Regency by students of the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. This activity was carried out offline with the title "Nutrition Training in Disaster Situations & the Role of Youth in Community-Based Programs for Nutrition and Disaster Awareness".

This event is one of the activities in the Matra Nutrition course which aims to provide education to youth regarding the importance of nutrition during disasters, as well as the role of Karang Taruna as a youth community in disaster mitigation and response.

This activity was attended by the youth of Karang Taruna RW 13. The event began with an opening by the MC followed by remarks from the chief executive and the head of Karang Taruna RW 13. The main event session began with a pre-test and presentation of material. The material presented included "Nutrition in Emergency Situations" and "The Role of Youth in Nutrition and Disaster Awareness Programs", followed by a question and answer session and post-test. After that, a focus group discussion (FGD) was held to discuss the roles and actions they can take as a community in disaster preparedness conditions, where each group will present the results of their FGD. The event continued with participant reflection where participants wrote about "what role can I play when a disaster occurs" on sticky notes and will be attached to the cardboard provided. The event was closed by the MC, followed by a group photo session. This event is expected to be a spark of enthusiasm for Karang Taruna youth in carrying out their role as a community to be more resilient and prepared for disasters.
