Public Health Webinar Series: “Smart Waste Management: Innovating Waste Practices for a Sustainable Society”

FIKES UPNVJ - The Public Health Webinar Series has been implemented: UPN “Veteran” Jakarta National Environmental Health Webinar 2025 online via the Zoom Meeting platform on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 08.00—13.50 WIB with the theme “Smart Waste Management: Innovating Waste Practices for a Sustainable Society”. This seminar aims to raise awareness of the importance of better waste management by utilizing technology.

This activity was guided by the Master of Ceremony (MC), namely Setyati Candra Nirmala, a student of the Public Health Study Program, Undergraduate Program, class of 2022 majoring in Environmental Health, in the Keynote Speaker session and the first speaker was guided by the Main Moderator, namely Mrs. Adelia Suryani S.K.M., M.K.M., as a Lecturer in the Public Health Study Program, Undergraduate Program, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, and the talk show session was guided by the talk show Moderator, namely Nadia Nugrahani, a student of the Public Health Study Program, Undergraduate Program, class of 2022 majoring in Environmental Health.

The activity began with participant registration, filling out the pre-test, screening the Environmental Health Seminar teaser, opening the event, reading the rules of procedure, and taking a group photo with a national defense pose. Continued by listening to the song Indonesia Raya, the National Defense March, and screening the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta FIKES profile video. Next, there was a series of speeches, namely speeches from the Vice Dean 1 for Academic Affairs, namely Mrs. Rita Ismail, S.Kp., M.KM., MTD (HE)., PhD., Coordinator of the Public Health Study Program of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, namely Mrs. Chandrayani Simanjorang S.K.M., M.Epid, and the chief executive, namely Amira Nasywa Azizah.

Next was the introduction and reading of the CV of the Main Moderator, namely Mrs. Adelia Suryani S.K.M., M.K.M. Then, the main moderator read the CV of the Keynote Speaker, namely Dr. Sri Wahyono, S.Si., M.Si., as the Head of Research on Biology-Based Waste Processing Technology at BRIN. Then the presentation of material on "The Role of Biotechnology in the Transformation of Waste Management Systems Towards a Sustainable Society," followed by the presentation of certificates to the Keynote Speaker. Continued by the introduction and reading of the CV of the first speaker, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Arief Sabdo Yuwono, MSc, as a Professor of SIL Bogor Agricultural University who presented material on: "Waste Management Innovation from an Environmental Engineering Perspective: Adaptive Strategy for Cities and Rural Areas", followed by a question and answer session and certificate presentation to the first speaker.

Next was the ice breaking session hosted by the MC and continued with a talk show session hosted by the talk show Moderator, namely Nadia Nugrahani, which began with the introduction and reading of the CV of the second speaker, namely Tommy Tjiptadjaja, MBA, as Co-Founder & CEO of Greenhope who presented material on: "Environmentally Friendly Bioplastic Innovation: The Role of Technology and Collaboration Towards a Future Free of Problematic Plastic." And continued with the ISHOMA session and presentation of material from the third speaker, namely Riefqa Naufalia Hanifah, as a Public Health student of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta class of 2022 from the Environmental Health interest with the material "The Role of Students in Encouraging Innovation and Real Action for Sustainable Waste Management in the Campus Environment", followed by a question and answer session, talk show and presentation of certificates to the second and third speakers.
