FIKES UPNVJ - Depok, July 21, 2025 — The Faculty of Health Sciences of the "Veteran" National Development University Jakarta (FIKES UPNVJ) and the Depok City Health Office held a Coordination and Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Meeting in mid-July 2025 at the Depok City Health Office Hall. This meeting served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen cross-sector synergy, particularly regarding the evaluation of the implementation of the Pentahelix partnership program in the even semester of 2025 and the preparation of collaborative activity plans for the odd semester of 2025/2026.
The coordination meeting was attended by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of FIKES UPNVJ, along with the Head of Public Health at the Depok City Health Office, Dr. Zakiah, MKM. Representatives from academia, government, the business sector, communities, and the media—key components of the Pentahelix approach—were also present. The evaluation covered the achievements of community service activities, collaborative research, and student and lecturer involvement in promotive and preventive programs in the Depok area.
In his presentation, Agustiyawan stated that the implementation of Pentahelix in the even semester showed a positive trend, particularly in student involvement in public health-based independent campus activities. "We see active participation and a tangible impact from this collaborative approach. However, going forward, there needs to be strengthened synergy, especially in documenting outputs and reporting cross-sector performance," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Depok City Health Office expressed its appreciation for the contribution of the UPNVJ Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) in strengthening the capacity of community-based health services. Several innovations, such as child nutrition education, digital integrated health post (Posyandu) cadre training, and adolescent health behavior research in priority villages, were deemed successful in bridging the gap between academics and public policy implementation.
As a follow-up, the meeting agreed on a joint agenda for the odd semester of 2025/2026, which will focus on three main priorities: strengthening the digitalization of health education, community research-based policy advocacy, and establishing a collaborative data center between stakeholders. In addition, a cross-institutional Pentahelix steering committee will be formed to ensure the long-term sustainability and integration of the program.
Through this activity, FIKES UPNVJ affirmed its commitment to implementing the Pentahelix approach as a collaborative platform to address urban public health challenges. This coordination meeting served not only as an evaluation forum but also as a catalyst for more structured and sustainable cross-sector collaboration, in line with UPN "Veteran" Jakarta's vision as a national defense campus responsive to community needs.
