FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, September 17, 2025 - The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta held a workshop titled "Publication Workshop for Novice Writers With a Focus on the Successful Submission of a Manuscript" today, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM WIB in the FIKES Meeting Room.

This workshop was specifically intended for 2024 Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) and lecturers within the FIKES UPN "Veteran" Jakarta as part of an effort to improve the academic and research capacity of educators.

International Speaker

This event featured an international speaker, Associate Professor TS Dr. Wan Ismahanisa Ismail from the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. He is an expert in scientific publications with extensive experience in academic writing.

This workshop is specifically designed to equip lecturers with practical knowledge and skills in scientific writing, covering the fundamentals of academic writing, strategies for selecting appropriate journals for their research, effective and systematic writing techniques, the manuscript submission process, how to overcome challenges in the review process, and successful tips for increasing the chances of manuscript acceptance in reputable journals.

Commitment to Developing Academic Human Resources

This workshop is expected to have a positive impact in the form of improving lecturers' scientific writing skills, particularly accelerating the adaptation of 2024 Civil Servant Candidates to the academic environment, increasing the overall productivity of research and publications at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), and strengthening the international collaboration network with Universiti Teknologi MARA (MARA University).

This activity demonstrates the commitment of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta to preparing a generation of academics ready to compete at the national and international levels through high-quality scientific works.
