FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, July 4, 2025 – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a campus orientation activity to welcome the arrival of Prof. Joachim Voss, an international expert from the United States who attended the Fulbright Specialist program. Prof. Joachim Voss is the Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, United States. This activity is part of a strategic collaboration to strengthen the internationalization of education and research in the health sector.
The orientation event was held on Thursday, July 4, 2025, and was attended by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs (Rita Ismail, S.Kp., M.K.M., MTD (HE)., Ph.D.), Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems (Agustiyawan, SST.FT, M.Fis., Ftr., AIFO; Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi) for Nursing Undergraduate (Ns. Gamya Tri Utami, M.Kep), Public Health Undergraduate (Dr. Chandrayani Simanjorang, SKM, M.Epid), Public Health Masters (Dr. Apriningsih, SKM.MKM), Nutrition Undergraduate (Utami Wahyuningsih, S.Gz., M.Si); Head of Nutrition Laboratory (Nanang Nasrullah, STP, MSI.) and Public Health (Dr. Een Kurnaesih, SKM, M.Kes); FIKES lecturers (Sintha Fransiske, S.Gz, MKM and Ns. Raphita Diorarta, M.Kep,Sp.Kep.J); laboratory staff from various study programs in the FIKES environment, namely Physiotherapy (Eko Yulianto, SKM), Nursing (Eko Paraslianto, S.Kep), Public Health (Azizah, SKM), and Nutrition (Chanagung Ajied B.C, S.Gz and Shintya Fika Harvi, S.Gz); and librarian (Lisye Maulina, S.IP). In this activity, Prof. Voss was introduced directly to various facilities, laboratories, reading rooms, and podcasts owned by FIKES UPNVJ as part of the introduction to the academic environment and learning support facilities in the faculty.
Facility orientation includes physiotherapy, nursing, public health, nutrition laboratories, reading rooms, and podcasts. During the orientation session, Prof. Voss discussed with the heads of study programs, lecturers, laboratory managers, and librarians related learning practices, curriculum development, and opportunities to improve the quality of evidence-based education.
As part of the Fulbright Specialist activities, Prof. Joachim Voss is also scheduled to give a public lecture on the topic “Systematic Review: Evidence Synthesis for Better Decision Making in Health Science”, as well as conduct a comprehensive curriculum review for all study programs at FIKES UPNVJ. This activity is expected to provide strategic input in strengthening the quality of the curriculum and increasing the competitiveness of graduates at the global level.
The presence of Prof. Voss is not only an academic momentum, but also strengthens FIKES UPNVJ's commitment to building international collaboration, broadening the horizons of lecturers and students, and accelerating the transformation towards a global standard health faculty (RI).
