
FIKES UPNVJ - Depok (September 24, 2025) – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) held an International Community Service event at Jl. Limo Raya No. 197, Depok. This event, in collaboration with the Dahlia Senja Elderly Community, was attended by members of the FIKES academic community and an international resource person, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Ismahanisa Ismail.
The event opened with an arts and cultural performance from the Dahlia Senja Community, which served as a warm welcome and strengthened the relationship between the community and the university. Next, the Dean of FIKES UPNVJ, Desmawati, SKp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat., Ph.D., delivered an official welcome emphasizing the importance of synergy between higher education and the community in improving global health.
The main session included a discussion on cervical cancer, discussing risk factors, prevention, and the importance of early detection. Participants were highly engaged in the material, which was relevant to the health needs of the community, particularly women and the elderly.
The event concluded with a group exercise session led by instructor Purnamadyawati, SST.FT, M.Fis. This exercise provided a way to maintain fitness while strengthening the bond between lecturers, students, and the elderly community.
With this activity, FIKES UPNVJ affirmed its commitment to continuously promoting health education and community service, both locally and internationally, to sustainably improve public health.
