FIKES UPNVJ - Depok, August 26, 2025 — The Undergraduate Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta, held the opening ceremony of Field Learning Experience (PBL) 1 and 2 at the Cipayung District Office Hall, Depok City. The event took place on Tuesday (26/08) from 09.00 to 11.35 WIB and was attended by student representatives, academic staff, local government officials, representatives from the Depok City Health Office, Cipayung Public Health Center (Puskesmas), and local community representatives. The activity aimed to provide students with practical experience in identifying and addressing public health issues directly in the field.
The ceremony began with an opening session, prayers, and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, Mars Bela Negara, and Mars Kota Depok. Following the documentation session, the event continued with welcoming remarks from several parties, namely: Dr. Chandrayani Simanjorang, S.K.M., M.Epid. as Head of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program; Agustiyawan, SST.FT, M.Fis., Ftr., AIFO as Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems; Cipayung Sub-District Head, Muhammad Reza, S.STP., M.Si; the Depok City Health Office represented by Secretary Dr. Yuliandi, M.Kes. on behalf of Dr. Mary Liziawati, MKM; and Dr. Suparmi, S.T., M.K.K.K. as Coordinator of the 2025 PBL Course, who also presented the objectives and purposes of the program.
In her presentation, Dr. Suparmi, S.T., M.K.K.K. emphasized that PBL 1 serves as an essential platform for students to sharpen their public health analysis skills through direct engagement with residents while strengthening collaboration between universities, local governments, and communities. Meanwhile, in PBL 2, students are expected to design and implement interventions based on the prioritized problems identified during PBL 1.
The program continued with the signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA) as a symbol of joint commitment in carrying out PBL I, involving: Cipayung Sub-District Head Muhammad Reza, S.STP., M.Si.; the Head of the Depok City Health Office represented by Secretary Dr. Yuliandi, M.Kes.; Head of Cipayung Public Health Center Dr. Siti Mahayanti; Head of Cipayung Urban Village Husni Mubarok, S.H., M.H.; Head of Cipayung Jaya Urban Village Susniawati, S.H., M.A.; and Head of Pondok Terong Urban Village Adi Supriadi, S.IP.
After the signing ceremony, Dr. Siti Mahayanti from Cipayung Public Health Center delivered an explanation regarding public health coverage in the Cipayung area. Subsequently, students held group discussions with academic supervisors and neighborhood representatives (RW). This discussion marked the initial step in mapping public health problems in the Cipayung area, which will later be formulated into intervention strategies in line with the competencies of Public Health students.
In carrying out their tasks, students will collaborate with local communities to ensure that interventions bring a real impact in reducing public health problems. The Undergraduate Public Health Study Program hopes that this activity will equip students with practical skills needed to face public health challenges while also providing tangible benefits for residents of Cipayung, Cipayung Jaya, and Bojong Pondok Terong. With the commencement of PBL, the program also aims to foster active student participation in community service activities and strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders to improve the quality of public health in Depok City, particularly in the areas of Cipayung, Cipayung Jaya, and Bojong Pondok Terong.
The event concluded with a joint prayer. Through the implementation of PBL I, it is expected that students will not only gain practical experience but also contribute directly to the community while supporting efforts to enhance the quality of public health in Cipayung District, Depok City.
