FIKES UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Successfully Held an Online Seminar “Manuscript Clinic Lecture and Student Magister”

FIKES UPNVJ - Depok, September 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) "Veteran" Jakarta, successfully held an online seminar titled "Manuscript Clinic for Lecturers and Master's Students." This event featured an international resource person, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ts. Wan Ismahanisa Ismail from the Faculty of Health Science, UiTM, Malaysia. This activity was aimed at postgraduate students of Public Health and Nursing, lecturers, and educators to improve their scientific writing skills, particularly in preparing research manuscripts for publication in highly reputable journals (WOS/Scopus).

This seminar featured experienced speakers who discussed "AI-Powered Writing: A Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing in High-Impact Journals." The seminar focused on the use of generative AI in research, including literature reviews, data interpretation, and research proposal preparation. Prompt Engineering techniques for optimizing the use of AI, such as Chat GPT, in qualitative and quantitative analysis, were discussed. Scientific writing strategies include an introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, abstract, and title section. Tips for international publication are also included, from selecting the right journal, understanding the peer review process, to publication ethics.

This seminar will teach you about utilizing technology and AI writing tools to support data analysis, literature compilation, and improving the quality of your writing. Through this activity, master's students and lecturers at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta are expected to gain more confidence in submitting manuscripts to reputable journals, be able to produce scientific papers that meet international standards, and understand AI-based data analysis techniques.

This seminar is expected to produce more high-quality publications from master's students and lecturers, while strengthening the contribution of Indonesian academics in international scientific forums. Held within the Faculty of Health Sciences, the event also serves as a forum for strengthening international networks and research collaborations, in line with UPN "Veteran" Jakarta's commitment to promoting quality education and research at a global level.

This activity is part of the institution's commitment to supporting research-based education and serving as a platform for developing academic capacity toward a more resilient and responsive health system.
