FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, August 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a socialization and understanding of the vision and mission for new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. This event served as the first step in instilling the values, goals, and direction of the faculty's development in the next generation who will contribute to the health sector.
The event took place in the UPNVJ Auditorium and was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and new students from all study programs. In his remarks, the Dean of FIKES emphasized the importance of students understanding the faculty's vision and mission from the outset. "Students must be aware that they are not just pursuing an education, but also becoming part of our broader vision of producing professional healthcare workers with national character and the ability to compete at the national and international levels," he said.
The vision of the UPNVJ Faculty of Health Sciences emphasizes academic excellence, research, and community service, oriented toward innovation and community-based health. Meanwhile, the mission statement included improving the quality of education, strengthening research with reputable publications, developing international collaboration networks, and implementing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.
During the presentation session, students were also given an explanation of the faculty's flagship programs, such as double degree opportunities, curriculum internationalization, domestic and international student exchange programs, and pentahelix-based community service activities.
One of the new students, Dina (18), expressed enthusiasm for participating in the socialization. "I now understand the faculty's overall goals and our role as students. I hope we can help realize this vision, not only through lectures but also through research and community service activities," she said.
Through this activity, it is hoped that new students will understand the direction and goals of FIKES UPNVJ and will be motivated to actively contribute to achieving academic and non-academic achievements. The socialization of this flagship vision and mission also serves as the initial foundation for building student identity as health professionals with integrity and prepared to face global challenges.
