Patient and Student Safety Socialization in Preclinical Physiotherapy Practice at the Practice Facilities

FIKES UPNVJ - The Physiotherapy Study Program, Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, held a Patient and Student Safety Socialization event for Preclinical Physiotherapy Practices at the Practice Facilities. The event took place online on August 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) until completion via Zoom Meeting. The resource person for this event was Agustiyawan, S.ST.FT., M.Fis, Ftr, AIFO, Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Collaboration and a Permanent Lecturer in Physiotherapy at UPNVJ.

The event was attended by Clinical Educators (CEs), field supervisors, field examiners, and seventh-semester undergraduate physiotherapy students. All participants were directly involved in preclinical physiotherapy practices at various practice facilities.

The socialization materials covered the commitment of the faculty and hospital to ensuring patient and student safety, understanding the hospital environment to support safe physiotherapy practice, use of standardized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection prevention and control (IPC), safe use of physiotherapy modalities in clinical services, mental and physical health of students during practice, effective communication between students, CEs, lecturers, and other healthcare professionals, and safety education and training.

In his remarks, Mr. Agustiyawan emphasized the importance of collective awareness of patient and student safety, as clinical practice is an integral part of the physiotherapy education process. This socialization is expected to strengthen the commitment of all parties to creating a safe, professional, and quality-oriented practice environment.
